No Right of Withdrawal for Public Cruise Tickets

Under § 312g para. 2 no. 9 of the German Civil Code (BGB), there is no statutory right of withdrawal for the booking of tickets for public cruises and sightseeing tours with a fixed departure date. This legal exemption applies to leisure events where the service is provided by the operator on a specific date.

This means: once your online booking is complete, you are not entitled to withdraw from it within the otherwise customary 14-day withdrawal period.

For cancellations and rebookings, our Conditions of Carriage apply, including the refund terms set out therein.

Right of Withdrawal for Charter Contracts

The same exemption under § 312g para. 2 no. 9 BGB also applies to charter contracts for events on board one of our vessels, provided that a specific event date has been agreed. In such cases, no statutory right of withdrawal exists.

Note on Gift Vouchers

When purchasing a gift voucher without a booked departure date, a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days from the date of contract applies, provided the purchase is made via distance selling (e.g. online). The following notice applies in such cases:

Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the date on which the contract is concluded.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us:

by means of a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email) of your decision to withdraw from this contract.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notification of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Consequences of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse all payments received from you promptly and no later than 14 days from the day on which we receive notification of your withdrawal. We will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; you will not be charged any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
