When the lines fly, the fender sits just right, and the ship lies millimetre-perfect at the berth, you have done a good job. As boatswain you are the hands-on soul on deck – the person the captain and crew rely on at every arrival and departure. You work outdoors, with your hands, and in the rhythm of the ship. A job for people who prefer getting stuck in to talking, and who know at the end of the day what they have accomplished.

Job Description

On board our passenger vessels you ensure that everything runs smoothly. Preparing the ship before and after each trip, casting off and mooring, operating the engines, and – of course – making sure the safety of crew and passengers is guaranteed at all times is in your blood. Together with the crew you keep the ship in top condition visually and technically, and you pitch in for maintenance and repair work.

You support the ship captain in all areas and also help out in the on-board gastronomy or sell and check tickets. Our passengers enjoy their time on the ship, and your friendly and reliable manner is a perfect fit. You feel at home on every vessel, whether an elegant passenger ship, a party boat, or a ferry.

The shipping company can count on you as a reliable team player who brings all their experience – or is eager to gain it with us. Your workplace is where others spend their leisure time. That is why working evenings or weekends does not bother you. A nine-to-five job is not for you; you are customer- and service-oriented and speak good German.
