Seven Ships With History

For the people of Bremen and their guests alike, these ships are a familiar part of the city: for generations, the Hal över fleet has shaped life on the Weser. Seven ships, each with its own story and its own character — from the Ostertor, which has connected Osterdeich and Café Sand since the 1970s, to the grande dame Oceana, sailing the Weser since 1937.

MS Hanseat

A Versatile Event Vessel

The Grande Dame of the Weser

MS Gräfin Emma

Classic Elegance With Tradition


A charming traditional ship with maritime character: two cozy lounges on the main and upper decks, a sheltered outdoor area for sociable moments, and an onboard audio system. Named after Countess Emma of Lesum — one of the great women of medieval Bremen — she has been part of the Hal över fleet since 2011. Before that, she made an adventurous journey from southern Germany to Bremen: down the Rhine, through Dutch canals, across the IJsselmeer, and along the Küstenkanal.

Ostertor

Bremen's Sielwall Ferry


Her official name is Ostertor — but to most people in Bremen, she's simply the Sielwall Ferry. The most agile ship in the fleet, she has connected Osterdeich and Café Sand since 1972. Her distinctive exterior design is the work of artist Veronika Dobers and has made this small vessel a familiar sight on the Weser.
