The Connection Between Osterdeich and Stadtwerder
Bremen's shortest ship journey goes from Osterdeich to Café Sand on the opposite side of the Weser. This ferry connection across the Weser has existed since 1736 – initially with rowing ferries and then since 1911 with motor ships. At Weser-km 365, between the ramparts and Weserstadion, it goes from the landing stage at the intersection Osterdeich/Sielwall across to the other side of the Weser to Stadtwerder – with beautiful sandy beach, Café Sand, an extensive allotment garden area and Werdersee.
From March to October, the Sielwall Ferry operates daily, during the rest of the year usually on weekends. When Werder plays at Weserstadion, always from 2.5 hours before kick-off until 1.5 hours after the final whistle.
A crossing takes just a few minutes – a short break on the water!
Good to know: The 10-trip tickets of the Weserfähre Bremen are also valid on the Sielwallfähre between Osterdeich and Café Sand, and vice versa.
Start and End Times of Ferry Operation
The Sielwall Ferry shuttles back and forth between the two landing stages – there are no fixed departure times, only start and end times of operation.
